Lauren and Dan got married on a sunshiny September afternoon at Cellar 52 in St. Jacob’s Village alongside the Conestogo River. This was a perfect location for guests travelling from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph.
The day started on the second floor of Cellar 52, where the elegant bridal and groom suites can be found. As a photographer, I appreciated the bright and airy upstairs space as it offered exceptional lighting for bridal party and detail shots. Hilary Grimm Makeup Artistry made the beautiful bridal party look even more stunning – with over ten years of experience, her skill, confidence, and calm contributed to the morning’s atmosphere of relaxation and celebration.
The outdoor ceremony took place riverside, steps behind the venue. Dan, a talented carpenter, made a beautiful cedar arbor that was lightweight and easy to assemble; the flower & foliage treatment and rose petal pathway transformed the scene into something from a fairy tale.
The romantic florals were done by Elaine of From the Potting Shed. The bride met with Elaine to put together a custom floral plan, and her final consult was a flower party that featured mimosas and a fun flower arrangement lesson with her bridesmaids at Elaine’s studio in Cambridge. The breathtaking bride came down the aisle in a dress from Valentina Bridal & Couture in Waterloo.
Alysha Ford, a wedding planner who works with Maeck Weddings, cued everyone (and everything) with perfect timing. The officiant, Paul Filsinger, had done a fantastic job leading the rehearsal the evening prior and led a heartwarming ceremony. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and dinner put on by the wonderfully accommodating and friendly staff at Cellar 52, and Little Mushroom Catering.
The night wrapped up with socializing outdoors on the patio area, which featured an outdoor bar, fire pits, cozy blankets, and sparkling string lights. The warm and cozy ambience and the perfect playlist thanks to Something Blue Wedding DJs made up for the fact that COVID-19 restrictions prevented a traditional “party” in some ways.
At the end of the night, the bride and groom were enveloped in the glow of a sparkler send off before retreating to Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa for the night. Guests were happy to take home their wedding favours of homemade wine and Mary Jane’s Hand Crafted Natural Soap bars, inspired by florals used in Lauren’s bridal bouquet – and the amount of hand washing these times are calling for! Guests have complimented the soothing natural oils in this product.
We at T. Guest Media had the pleasure of filming the ceremony and capturing the beautiful day’s endless photo ops. For those who don’t know me personally, this wedding was extra special because the bride is my sister-in-law. The father of the bride (and my father-in-law) Dennis Dalton, is an experienced photographer who works alongside me at many of our wedding shoots; while he was still able to capture many beautiful photos, it was fun to see Dennis in front of the camera for a change.
